Mee and Mi Back in Bali Part 2

CHECK OUT BACK IN BALI

Hu’u Bali bewildered us as we sipped on our welcome drinks in their enchanting dining gardens. Think Hamptons crosses traditional Bali, the Hu’u Bar is made for easy summer lounging with refreshing drinks and delicious food. After lugging our suitcases around all day exploring the streets of Bali two Lychee Martinis were well needed. Even with little energy we were so impressed by the unique décor and open outdoor area we continued to bounce around taking photos and amusing ourselves with the outdoor detailing.

Our modern double storey villa was beyond our expectations. An outdoor private pool accompanied with daybeds and lively green gardens made for a luscious area for breakfast by the pool or a day spent reading under the shade. The perfect abode to cater for a larger family or group of friends boasting two large bedrooms each with their own bathroom plus living and dining aread.

The Hu’u was situated in the heart of Seminyak on Jalan Petitenget which is known for its shopping, cafes and fine dining restaurants. If you are looking for a central location where everything can be reached via foot then the Hu’u Bali is for you!

Our last stop on our Back in Bali stay was at the Maca Villa and Spa we couldn’t have asked for a better spot to finish off our trip. As our tropical adventure was coming to an end we were looking for a private, fresh but relaxing stay to complete our fun filled holiday. Back in Bali nailed our request with no hesitation.

Maca Villa and Spa greeted us to a compact villa perfect for a couple or friends getaway. A large bedroom, which overlooked an outdoor plunge pool, lounge room and large Balinese styled bathroom. Surrounded by lush gardens we instantly felt relaxed and in a tranquil state. The Mase Restaurant and Wine bar served up delicious food and an extensive wine choice. Complimentary afternoon tea was also available at the Mase Restaurant daily with friendly staff always willing to be of service.

The Soham Wellness Spa and Gym are affiliates of the Maca Villas and located directly across the road. We used the gym facilities daily followed by massages at the Wellness Spa this is such a fantastic addition to their already brilliant services. The staff were extremely catering and always beaming with a contagious smile that made us feel were we always in good hands. The Bali oil massages were our favourite and the complimentary tea relaxed us from the inside out. It’s the attention to detail at the Maca Spa and Villa that really made our stay memorable.

Our trip wouldn’t have been the same without the help of our Back in Bali travel Guru’s. For a first time traveller to Bali it can be very overwhelming, there are so many “must see” destinations to visit, and places to stay. The Back in Bali team helped us choose the best locations suited to our needs with the best rates available. They made it so easy to book and took the added pressure and worry that comes with travelling off our hands. Next time you’re planning your Bali holiday we highly recommend you contact Back in Bali for the best Villas, Hotels, Restaurants, Bars and Entertainment Attractions to save you big.

Our Top 5 Must Try’s

1. Café Organic – One word to describe this place Wow! Serving organic, raw and vegan locally farmed produce. The tastiest smoothie bowls and an abundance of choice on the menu there is something for everyone. Whether your prefer eggs or a veggie option our mouth is watering just thinking about it!
2. Shanghai Baby – Modern Asian x French fusion restaurant and roof top bar, the groovy tunes kept us dancing all night long. We were very impressed by the food and the beautiful décor.
3. Revolver Espresso – The baby sister shop to the main café is located close to Hu’u for all of the coffee fanatics. Lately we have been loving our coffees over ice, especially in the Balinese humidity the coffee at Revolver Espresso was probably our favourite in Bali.

Mee and Mi Back in Bali Part 1

On our most recent trip away Mee & Mi returned to one of our favourite islands, Bali. We love the tropics and it really isn’t any wonder that we have developed a love affair with the smiling island. The Beaches, the culture, the food, the lifestyle are all things that keep bringing us back here. No matter how many times we have visited we always find new places to explore. We can guarantee that this is one place you can find something for everyone.

The taxi comes to a sudden stop and we look at each other with excitement, we have arrived! As the taxi doors swing open we are greeted with a warm smile and the friendly service of the Sheraton Bali employees. For the next 3 days we would call the Sheraton Bali home and we could not have chosen a more amazing place for our first stop.

The Sheraton is located on Kuta Beach. Kuta is known for its great shopping, restaurants and the perfect beach to learn how to surf. An abundance of markets, shops and activities means there is something to keep everyone entertained. Kuta is one of the main cities of Indonesia therefore it is the best location to stay to be amongst the Balinese nightlife and also easily access other secluded parts of Bali.

As we arrive to our room in the Sheraton we are delighted to see the open plan bedroom to bathroom style ensuite. We are treated to a rose petal and macaroon welcoming and jump straight into our Sheraton robes and slippers, feeling instant relaxation. We spend the rest of the evening on our gorgeous balcony overlooking the infinity pool and Kuta beach.

Breakfast time would arrive and we would find ourselves walking the buffet looking like two children in a candy store. Breakfast is our favourite meal of the day and the Sheraton impressed us with an amazing buffet. A banquet of international cuisines, fresh fruits, eggs in any style and an array of decadent sweets and cakes. A dessert haven!

The service of the staff is exquisite and their attention to detail to create the perfect atmosphere and service made our stay extremely pleasant. Whether you are stopping over in Bali for a short business trip or indulging in a long-term family holiday. The Sheraton occupies a fitness studio, gorgeous pool overlooking Kuta beach, Salon, High Tea facilities and a 5 star dining experience to make any length of stay pure enjoyment. Simply lie back and enjoy the wonderful service and accommodation, we are sure you will be impressed.

Our next stop was Canggu. Just north of Seminyak, Canggu is a new up and coming area and definitely one to check out on your next trip to Bali. Hosting some of Bali’s trendiest health cafes and restaurants, you would want to make sure you have enough time in your trip to experience them all.

In the quiet streets of Canguu we arrived at the Ametis Villa Bali. The walkway filled with luscious greenery and the calming fresh smell of nature. We stepped inside and felt an immediate feeling of inner peace and tranquillity. We were welcomed to the most beautiful open plan villa and greeted by our very own personal butler needless to say we felt like royalty.

Our villa Topaz consisted of a full kitchen, dining and living area overlooking an outdoor pool and beautiful garden. An entertainers dream! The large master bedroom and tropical bathroom were as spacious as they were beautiful. If it wasn’t for all of the amazing sites to visit we may have never left our villa Topaz.

Our butler Padek soon became our friend and our local know how. Padek was available any time of the day and his service was excellent. He organised yoga classes for us and assisted with all our daily needs and queries. A spectacular experience and one that must be had if you wish to completely relax and experience the luxe of travelling Bali. When you step outside your tranquil abode you are walking distance to local restaurants and shopping streets allowing you to explore the gorgeous young and fun vibe of Canggu.

Back in Bali our “Bali Gurus and Travel Experts” helped us plan the most perfect week in Bali. With one week down we could not wait to see what gorgeous venues Back in Bali had planned for week us in week two stay tuned…..

Mee & Mi Hit the streets in Mink Pink

Mee and Mi hit the streets in Mink Pink

Bondi Beach is iconic for its gorgeous beach, bronzed goddess-like bodies and smoothie shack hot spots. Today Mee & Mi took a right turn and hit the back streets of Bondi to rock our favourite pieces of the current MINK PINK collection for the Mink Pink X Lipault Blogger Challenge

The Aussie Summer has been unbelievable, on these warm sunny days and balmy nights we love the simplicity of a cute summer dress. The perfect outfit to take it from the day to the bar. In crisp white or a pop of colour, think cute summer shapes teamed with a chunky low summer heel, your favourite hat and you’re ready to go.

Nevena wears the ‘INDIGO WALLS MIDI DRESS’ this gorgeous blue tile printed dress is so fun for warm summer days. With a gorgeous split and low neckline it’s the perfect combination of cute and sexy. Nevena wears this with nude strappy summer heels and a neutral hat, when in doubt on colour team it with nude.

Kahili wears the ‘LOVE ACTUALLY DRESS’ nothing screams summer more than a baby doll dress. The cute lace detail gives the dress a beautiful luxe feel. Teamed with low ankle boots this instantly gives an edge to the prettiness of the dress.

S.T.Y.L.E is on everyone’s lips when it comes to the latest summer collection to hit the streets from Mink Pink. The most sought after street style attire; Mink Pink has really put their footprints in the sand this summer and Mee & Mi are making a splash.

Be sure to search #MINKPINKXLIPAULT for all of the other entries.

And keep enjoying these warm summer days

Mee & Mi Adventures on The Yacht Week Thailand

January 22, 2016

Mee and Mi Adventures on the Yacht Week Thailand

THE YACHT WEEK – NOTHING LIKE THE REAL WORLD

When you plan for nothing and receive everything…

The illusion of sailing around a beautiful Island such as Thailand was something in the past we could only have imagined. With no prior expectations or knowledge of life on a yacht or of the gorgeous Thailand itself. Mee & Mi boarded the yacht “Mango” from the golden shores of Phuket, Thailand. Alongside 10 unfamiliar faces from across the globe, it was within moments that friendly connections were made and we all knew we were in for a week full of adventures. A week known as… The Yacht Week.

Mee and Mi Adventures on the Yacht Week Thailand

The Yacht Week brings together people from all over the world to experience a sailing adventure unlike any other. 16 yachts set sail together through the islands of Thailand with numerous stops to observe iconic landmarks, islands and beaches that Thailand has to offer. Hidden treasures that can only be seen by the knowledgeable and accessed by a yacht.

Greeted by our chef and skipper with large warm smiles the yacht was fully prepared with everything needed for the week ahead and boy what a week it was! Our days would start at 7am to the smell of our chef O’s cooking. O was a Thai chef who soon became our friend and a local knowledge. O certainly brought the traditional Thai cuisine on board the yacht and gave us the opportunity to experience a true sense of real Thai culture and cuisine through his cooking. His aromatic Thai spices and chilli dishes were not for the faint hearted, but when in “Rome” or shall we say “Thailand”.

Our first days were spent sailing across the gorgeous blue Andaman Sea. Exploring new locations that The Yacht Week had planned. Our skipper Marcus navigated our boat as we relaxed along the deck, sun baking and admiring the beautiful view whilst sharing stories with our newly made friends. One of the first places we visited was the island Koh Kai, also named Chicken Island as the rock formation looks like the head of a chicken. At low tide a thin channel of sand forms joining the two islands together and making it easy to walk across. We spent the day swinging on the tree swings as well as snorkelling around the beautiful coral reefs. Chicken Island is definitely a must see.

Each day we would arrive at a new spot and there was always new sites to see and activities to be done. It was day three that we arrived at Pangea beach. We enjoyed a relaxing Thai massage as we watched the sun set. It was what came next that we will never forget. As all 16 yachts moored and all of our fellow Yacht Week companions gathered at Pangea Beach Bar in the dark of the night, we were given Lanterns to wish upon. It was after the wish that we sent the lanterns high into the sky. As we started to light our lantern together we shared a smile as we reflected on the year we were leaving behind us. We made our wish and set the lantern free to fly into the world of dreams. The site of hundreds of lanterns being set free was truly a memory that will live on in our minds forever.

Next came the Emerald Caves found in Koh Muk. This was an experience unlike any other. When our skipper told us we would be swimming through an 80 metre cave in pitch black, the heart rate increased and panic mode started to kick in. Nevena in particular is petrified of deep water and the fear of not knowing what is underneath, however we took on the challenge. With our snorkel gear and flippers on hand we dived and swam to the entrance of the cave. Pods of fish perhaps even millions, were at the entrance of the cave. We spent time admiring the life underwater and then navigated our way through the dark cave. Emerging on the other side to the most beautiful secluded beach surrounded by a limestone cave and a thick tropical Jungle. Put simply… it was paradise. An area that seemed so untouched, yet available to us in its natural state. To say we were completely blown away by this place would be an understatement. This is one place you most certainly have to experience for yourself.

The week bloomed with new tropical locations daily as did our bond with our new friends. We spent a day swimming and exploring Maya Bay also referred to as the famous Island from “The Beach”. Unfortunately Leo was nowhere to be seen but the crystal clear waters of Maya Bay most certainly made up for it!

As day turned into night the adventure would continue. We dined in some of the yummiest restaurants and enjoyed an abundance of fresh seafood cooked to Thai perfection. After dinner we would escape and embark on the vibrant and wild nightlife of Thailand. Our favourite party was the White Party on Phi Phi Island held by The Yacht Week crew. All of The Yacht Week patrons dressed in white entered the cliff top bar overlooking Phi Phi to an amazing cotton candy sunset. We had our faces painted in white glow in the dark paint as we danced the night away to the sweet tunes of the official TYW DJs. Each night on board The Yacht Week offered a different party organised for The Yacht Week patrons. Some nights we partied other nights we went to bed early, this is the beauty of The Yacht Week. Whether you prefer to be up early in the morning, or up all night The Yacht Week has you covered with an extensive amount of activities catered to your liking.

‘Nothing like the real world’ is how The Yacht Week describes their week and we couldn’t agree more. Our experience in being part of The Yacht Week was beyond spectacular and we would recommend it to anyone seeking more than just your average holiday. From seeing and experiencing places that are unreachable via land, to making friends from all over the globe. These memories will last a lifetime and we have The Yacht Week to thank for such a one of a kind experience. As we bid farewell to our Yacht Week Crew, we relish in the idea of another Yacht Week voyage with our crew, this time possibly on a European Route. Au Revoir friends but not for long, this little adventure is To Be Continued…..

Mee & Mi in Amore & Sorvete

Mee & Mi in Air Resort and Swimwear

Laying in the sun across the oceans shoreline, our beached bodies stretched in Amore & Sorvete. We engulf the suns rays as we lay and appreciate the view that is Fingal Beach, Queensland. Another beautiful ocean landscape we have stumbled across during our travels wearing and documenting the world’s best swimwear.

We would continue to bask in the beautiful Queensland sun but we decide to escape the heated oceans shore to relax amongst the coastal trees. We climb the rocks and explore what Fingal Beach has hidden beyond the sands edge in our two favourite pieces from Amore & Sorvete’s latest collection. We are in love with the cute, unique styles that are Amore & Sorvete and the hardest part was picking our favourite pieces as we loved them all!

Kahili wears the Nigella set in Aqua motif a beautiful blue and white Moroccan inspired print. The fully adjustable and supportive cup top is a woman with a bigger busts best friend. Made with luxury Lycra and underwire cupping this set shows its attention to detail in its design. Numerous meritable qualities are present throughout all of Amore & Sorvete’s range and this is what makes their swimwear reflect pure rarity. This is proven in the Nigella bottoms with a cute design feature on the back, it’s the small attention to detail that really gets our hearts racing when it comes to swimwear.

The NIGELLA Set

Cooling off amongst the branches Nevena enjoys her time in the Mint set in Lemon Spread.A drawstring halter neck top creates the most perfect fit. A fruitbowl of bikini goodness with its shirred fabric creating extra comfort and support. The Mint Brazilian bottoms are one of our favourite bottoms on offer with just the right amount of cheekiness on the bottoms and also a little daring on the side straps. We are confident this bikini will be seen across all Australian beaches this coming summer.

Mee & Mi in Air Resort and Swimwear

Mee & Mi in Air Resort and Swimwear

Not every day is the same for Mee & Mi and today we explored the cliff rocks in AIR Resort and Swimwear. In the earth tone lyrca designs by Kasey Suwenda, we embark on a day exploring a surprisingly deserted hidden beach. Looking like a scene out of Jurassic Park we loved that there was no other person on this beautiful stretch of sand surrounded by a tropical jungle oasis.

AIR Resort and swimwear label is handcrafted out of Bali Indonesia using only limited edition fabrics and colour combinations unique to their brand. Mix and match swimwear has grown rapidly over the past few seasons as girls are loving the option of making each swimwear look their own. AIR swimwear has given this option to their customers in an array of colour selections and styles to suit your body shape and your mood.

Every swimwear wardrobe needs an all white bikini. There is nothing that screams hot summers day more then a white bikini. In this white edit, Nevena is wearing the OLA Top and RAI Pant, while Kahili is seen wearing the RICA Top and BALI Pant. The small variations in each design is what makes AIR so versatile. Our best tip for picking your perfect white bikini in the AIR range is to think about which shape will be best suited to your body shape. Do you prefer something with adjustability in both the top and bottom or do you prefer for the swimsuit to be a fixed sized, or do you like one and the other. AIR resort has you sorted as you can choose your own favourite top and bottom.

The White Edit.

Fighting the summer salty wind we explored the beach in our practical yet alluring swimwear we set upon roaming the head land around this forbidden private area. Camouflaging our bohemian inspired styling from today’s look with the natural tones of today’s bearings.

We are in love with the colour palette that AIR have used. The earthy tones are so synonymous with Balinese lifestyle and work perfectly for a Bohemian chic swimwear look. Kahili is seen in the LOHIKA Top and ZILI Pant in the Choc colourway which can also be matched effortlessy with Nevena’s reversible RITA Top or SANGA Pant in the Choc/Maroon reversible colour. Both colours are a great example of the perfect colour combination swap. Whether you prefer the tie side Zili pant or a more fitted edging like the Sanga pant as worn by Nevena. Both styles can be intertwined and rotated to suit the individual’s desires.
